The miniature park is located in the Swiss town of Melide on the shores of Lake Lugano and occupies an area of 14,000 square meters. Under the open sky, surrounded by greenery, 130 models of houses, castles and monuments on a scale of 1:25 have been assembled. It presents Switzerland in the palm of your hand and it will take you less than an hour to visit all the magnificent corners of the country.
There is also a small railway in the park, which is surrounded by a garden filled with 15,000 types of flowers and 1,500 types of trees. Pierre Wühner, inspired by the miniature park in the Netherlands, decided to make one in Switzerland. After traveling most of the country, Wühner came across the pretty town of Melide and decided it was the perfect place to realize his idea. It took nearly 2 years to build, and many sacrifices on the part of Wüner. In the name of the cause, he sold his business and devoted himself entirely to the work in the park. There you can see scaled-down detailed copies of famous places and landmarks such as Burgdorf and Shion castles, Heidi's village from Johanna Spiri's novel of the same name, the federal parliament in Bern and many other iconic landmarks of Switzerland.
